i believe its .063... but it may also depend on the engine.

that just depends on your application. thinner head gaskets tend to raise compression a tad, which is what i presume you are aiming for by adding a thinner gasket...

how much will it raise the compression? do i haveta upgrade anything? can i just put the gasket in or do i need the motor machine to be flat?

dude that distance is so small, dont expect much...
if you wanna raise compression do it the right way and do it by the pistons.
ill just get the thinner gasket then get the pistons n rods. or if i do both will it hite the head? i just dont have about 900 bux sittin around for the kit right now

pistons shouldnt cost you 900$....
4-500$ at most.
thinner gasket really isnt gonna give anything noticeable... its the same as shaving a head.
better to save up and do it once and do it right.
im just tryin to do stuff to my car that isnt going to involve taking the whole motor out and ripping it apart cuz i got no where to do that and it will cost a butload to have a shop do it. what else can i do without tearin much off the motor and bein able to leave the motor in the car?

compression wise, or what more is your goal....
thats were we should start, cause if you goal is more like more air in, freeing up some hp, or smaller things that can be done, look into rocker arms from howellautomotive.com or maybe get a spare cylinder head and get it completely redone, ported and polished (exhaust side, leave the intake side rough)....
stuff like that....
theres plenty of stuff you can do in the valve train.
k ill prolly get the roller rockers but do ya haveta take the head off or what cuz it says ya have open it so far and how do ya tell that if dont take it off? is it a lot easier then it sound on the site because theres a lot of stuff to do n i dont know much about them? also should i get the pushrods with it cuz they aint that much?

for rocker arms, just the valve cover, but precise adjustment of em is required.
its kinda alot easier than it sounds, just tedious to get it precisely done.... thats prob the more accurate way of describing it...
think of it like soldering a micro chip by hand.... easy concept, but you have to be very precise and take your time.
