Magnaflow Cat Part Numbers (91035, 94035)

I am having a hard time choosing between these two part numbers. the 94035 is 3" longer than the other one. Does this affect sound at all? Is any performance gained over 3"? Also, I plan on adding a header later on. Will I throw a code with a shorter or longer cat?

i had this same question a while back.. i emailed Event and this is what he told me:

Quote:

however since both the 94035 and the 91035 are three way, the 94035 will be able to handle more as its actually 3 inches more catalyst material inside as its longer, which is why i upgraded from the 91035 after i punctured the 91035 from road debris.

Then i asked if the 91035 would work on my Z and this is what he emailed me back

Quote:

it should, but personally i would shoot for the 94035 for any future mods you might add down the road and just to be safe. in this case bigger is better cause the more catalyst you have the cleaner it burns. just my reccomendation

Hope this helped you out..

94035 comes with the bung already in it and has 12 inches worth of catalyst area...

94135 has a bunch as well, but ONLY 9 inches of catalyst area not really all that much as its the same size as the 91000 series, or the one i used to have, the 91035.....

still safer to go with the one with more catalyst.... i just look at it like building engines, make the bottom end strong and it will handle anything you throw at it...

in this case chose a cat with enough catalyst and it will handle anything you throw at it down the road...

the one rksport sells is the 94005, which is the same as the 94035, just minus the bung.....hole

my vote, the 94035 as you get more catalyst, which will be more efficient than the ones with 3 inches less catalyst.

if i had to reccomend one, i'd go with the 94035 simply to be on the safe side.

Sounds like I can't go wrong with the 94035 then. Thanks

i went with the 53005 cat. Then again... I don't have a rear o2 sensor.
