anyway if it need to be machind ill get a friend to do it at school!

if you don't want to do all the machine work... you gotta swap completely to a 2200 because you can't just use the 2200 TB/FR/IM on a 2.2 OHV. You'd have to swap the head. And the 2200 head requires modification to fit perfectly onto the 2.2 OHV block... so just swap it.

Make sure your friend knows what he's doing. It took my machinish, who's got like 20 years experience, about 8 hours to do. A lot of that time is setup because the angles, and depths need to be perfect. Also, he gave me a huge discount of doing it for only $100 (we both work at the same place, so kinda like a inside deal). A regular machine shop i'd expect to charge on a per hour basis, and usually its like $60 an hour. or around there. Not sure, but its not usually cheap. Someone correct me if i'm wrong though.

Also, for mounting the fuel rail, using a torch to bend that metal was a mistake. It made pin hole cracks in the fuel rail, which we had to seal by brazing (SP?) some brass onto the spot to "patch" it up. It's all sealed now, and fine, but it took some time. Also, don't JB weld and fitting it. haha. that came off after removing the fuel rail a few times, and putting it on (the torque from taking the fuel line off broke the JB weld.)

well He knows what he is doing he machined all kind of parts for a solar car and a couple plane parts! and i really dont wanna swap to the 2200 top end! i just wanna do the fuel rail swap!

plus i saw somewhere that the 2200 top end is less powerfull than the 2.2 ohv (95/97)

now by top end you mean the head and intake manifold? you can get more power out of the 2200 with the additional fuel. if you convert your fuel rail to accept topfeed injectors, then you can go balls out since you will have the fuel system to back up whatever you want to do. I don't necessarily think the 2200 head is less durable for any reason. I don't see why it would be.

I agree, but another thing to keep in mind is that the 2200 head will not go on a 2.2 block from 95-97, if i recall correctly. Can anyone back that up? I believe the coolent holes, or something did not line up correctly.

ok well can anyone tell me the difference between the 2.2 and 2200 head id like to get some info before i jump on conclusion from now on! I know the trottle body is in a different place, the 2.3 T/B can fit on it,there are roller rocker instead of solid on that engine (iirc) bot other than that im lost!

It needs modification to fit on the 2.2 block. Lots of machine work from what I understand. You would be better off swapping the entire 2200 OR going the conversion route and having the fuel rail machined and redrilled for topfeeds.
