shift+ and motor mounts

Ok well the other day I got my motor mounts and shiftplus from car customs. We installed the lower mount easy enough, but then we had a little bit of trouble on the upper insert but we couldnt find the right socket so i guess that explains it. We decided to do the shiftplus next. It was a very easy install and we got it working but the ETS and check engine lights are on. Correct me if im wrong but does this mean we spliced into the wrong wires or not because the shiftplus does work. Anyways you can definitely feel the differance the mods made. The vibes arent even bad at all, but i guess we havent put in the upper insert yet. Well i figured i would just let you know how everything went. Help on the shiftplus question would be great.......

Tyler,

My Check Engine LIght came on a little after I installed my ShiftPlus. It was because one of the wires came loose and wasn't connecting. I used the connectors that came with the kit temporarily - just to check the product out before I hacked up the wiring too much. Try clearing the code. (unplug the battery for about 15 min.) That's what I did.

The only time my ETS light comes on is if I change settings while in gear. The light will come on for a few seconds and then go out.

I have a question for you though - does your tranny make noise when you have the ShiftPlus on? Mine does - a little rattling on the first setting and a bit more on the second setting. I'm a little concerned about it.

the top mount is really easy. i installed mine last night, go to teamforwardmotion.com they have an excellent how to which i used to install mine. did not even need soap like everyone said mine we got in with a hammer easy enough, and used the air tools to put everything backtogether. the hardest part of the whole upper and lower install was taking the fender liner off and all that is is screws lol. sorry cant help you with the shiftplus though because i have a standard, but they have a how to on the website above too. hope this helps.

keith, my transmission does not rattle at all. the shifts are very clean and there is not a problem besides the check engine light and ETS. But now i know how to fix that. How many miles do you have on your cav keith? Mine has about 135xxx and its fine.

Tyler,

Sorry to jack the thread, but it seemed like a good place to do it. I have 58,000 km. I can't hear the rattle from inside the car. I only notice it outside when it's running - in park (not sure yet about in drive). (Why would it make noise in park?)

Did the reset take care of everything?

keith the same 'rattling' noise happens to me too, but i dont hear it while in park, moreso when im driving and it starts to rattle when it shifts(i too have an auto) into 2 gear(whats the firing order for 4spd autos?) i hear it at low speeds, 20-30 mph, then i speed up a bit for the next gear and its gone. i hear on the .org that it might be the 'CV Joint'? i dont know much about it either. anyone else would know shine in. thanks in advance. btw i also have the shift+, i didnt do the solder method, just connected the 2 wires together and used wire connectors i bought from home depot, i also get the ETS Off light, but no CELs(check engine light) on both 1 AND 2. some ppl on the forum say that thats normal, but i dont know yet still on how the shifter+ works. again anybody?
