ecotec header problems.....

i am having trouble fitting the pacesetter header into place on my ecotec, are there any tricks to getting it into place or a certain way to drop it in? any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks

you gotta kinda wiggle it in , but it should for the most part drop in


more so if you have a manual trans

does the 4-2-1 header have the same problem and I have a auto trans

If its 4-2-1 install it in peices. If you need extra room take the rubber trim off the metal peice that flanges out at the top of the hood. Then you can take some vice grips and bend it up temporarily, that gets you enough extra room you can slip it down. I found that its easier if you push down on the header on the drivers side first.

just stand on your valve cover, get the header down in there, and jump on it a few times. it'll work its way down in there.

thanks guys i got it in there.... i had to remove the o2 sensor and then it fit pretty easily. thanks again for the help though

yeah. It's a little tight. but it'll go in with a little convincing.
