i was reading a little bit bout that "new" (cuz i dont know how new) book...and i noticed it said ecotec racing...did the make a book about the 2.4L engines that are in the Z24? i wanted to simply ask b4 i went to the book store and wasted bout 20mins of my time i could have spent sanding...

I don't believe they did for the simple fact that GM didn't really care about the 2.4 motor (in a sense) or not as much as they do the ECOTEC motor.

Yeah I know but GM wasn't really caring about the 4 cylinder market before like they are now. They see how other companies like Scion, Honda & Toyotas offer more power and see how they are being modified by mostly young people and the ECOTEC motor was a new motor to them from Europe (back in 2001) and decided to start offering it in 2002 as a new motor to start competing with other companies.

I guess they figured the 2.4 motor has been around since 95 and it was better to start with a new motor with alot of potential.

quads date back to the late 80's, and olds put out some books on how to race with them... some of the same things can be done to the LD-9's

Oops...messed up the year. Did GM start bringing the motor after taking over SAAB or some company like that?
