my dad has a 2005 cavalier with the ecotec motor. he wants to put a intake on it but everywhere we look for one they only have them from 02-04 ecotec. so i have a few questions. will a 02-04 ecotec intake fit on a 2005? which intake should he get? where should he get it from?

basically all the Warm air are the same, and all the cold air are the same, just different prices. yes thier are some differences... blah, blah, but the power gains will be about the same. So an ebay will be good ( as long as the seller is good), Most people just go with names they trust like K&N, AEM, Injen....etc.

04=05. Same car.

I have the AEM CAI. I'd recommend that one.

hell even some 02's have ecos right. so 02-05 have same motor, *in select models* and the 02 has the older body style.

There is a difference in the 02 ecotecs and the 03-05 ecotecs. The 02s fuel rails and lines are in different locations and I believe there is something different about their stock intake system.

/\ /\ /\ the 02 ecos have different intakes and they aren't supposed to be able to be swapped between an 02 and anyother ecos but I wont swear to this as I'm not 100% on this.

But I will tell you from experence that the Injen intake WILL NOT FIT A CAR WITH ABS
unless you do a little moding on the intake and the abs modual bracket. But you can make it fit and it does make a big diff in the power. Or at least when dynoed by my butt.
Hope this helps you out.

Oh and BTW the '05 Cavs are just left over '04's that G.M. got ride of.

Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
