Exhaust Header ceramic vs. nonceramic coated

Ok on the the exhaust system. What gain can i expect to gain from a ceramic coated header vs. a non coated header from pacesetter? I guess the ceramic coating keeps the gasses hotter longer and the hot gasses move faster? Sorry still kinda new to this whole thing. I have read the sticky at the top of the page but looking for some more input. I have a port and polished head valve job, wai, new push rods and 1:1.6 rocker arms on the way. Probably since i need to replace the exhaust a ceramic coated header and new pipe all the way back (2.25 or 2.50) with new hiflow cat resonator and muffler. Also what size pipe would be best for me to run?

i doubt there are any performance differences between the coated and noncoated... the noncoated will look alot less pretty after awhile of driving...

The coating is a good add on for atleast 2 reasons:
1. It will keep the engine bay temps lower and keeping the engine cooler.
2. I keeps the header at more of a show quality as the painted is just low temp paint that prevents the header from rusting before you install it.

Let me know if you would like to purchase one. www.TurboTechRacing.com. We have 2 ceramic and 3 painted ones in stock right now. Email me Aaron@turbotechracing.com

being that you live in NY , i wouldnt get the painted 1 , the header will rust very quickly in the winter with all the road salt

the ceramic coating helps prevent it from rusing sooner

but either way you have to wash the parts like you do the car to wash the road salt off , cause the salt will just keep eating away , no matter which you get

I would actually like to know how well the high temp paint will hold up on this header. Anyone have any experience? I am wanting to paint it blue to match my car, so i do not want to get it ceramic coated.

I don't need no stinking SIG. Wait this is one.
DOH!

the black paint that comes on the header is only there to keep it from rusting while it is on the shelf. the paint isnt actually high temp paint, and it will all peal off shortly after u install the header. so the best thing to do is if u want to paint it blue, or any color for that matter, strip all the black paint off before u install it (big pain in the a$$) then paint with high temp paint. But for the time that it takes u are better off just gettin the ceramic one.

this is my sig

I am willing to spend the time for the look i want and to save the extra 100$+ it costs for ceramic coated. What would i use to strip the black paint off? What grit sand paper or a chemical that would strip? Also what kind of prep is necessary for the high temp paint?

with ceramic coating you won't have to worry about your starter getting heat soaked (on the 2.2 OHV models)

I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.

you can get a ceramic blue header , currently they sell through nopi

for high temp paint , get the highest you can get 1200 or better , follow the directions on the can , and heat bake them before you run them

as far striping the header , sand blasting is the best , also paint striper works , but make sure all the paint is off
