tb and intake manifold

i have a 2001 cavalier 2200 5spd manual...and i was wondering what is up with the intake manifold and tb from http://www.rsmracing.com/catalog.htm ? do i just take out my stock intake manifold and then put the rsm tb on it? or what? is it an easy install, can i do it with the engine in? and what sort of gains would i be looking at, is it even worth it?

It just replaces the stock one, I changed the gasket in between the head and manifold but I guess its not 100% necessary.

take out the old replace with the new...not really new, but yea...

easy bolt on, no removal of engine

gain, moving the power band higher....

prob not gonna be worth it on a stock car. your engine hasnt been modified to take in more air so all you are really doing is slowing velocity killing your low end...

might wanna gander at this post http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=2&i=319033&t=318494#319033

unless you are boosted, theres really no need for a 62 or 59 mm tb... and if you dont have a 62mm tb, then theres no point in the intake manifold.

take time on the second link, it explains alot as far as how much air you can actually use in a 2200.

yea...sorry i just got to that now lol, so just stick with stock IM and TB and just stick with aftermarket intake and i will be fine, unless i go for boost. (which wont be in the near future thanks to the $3+ gas prices)

more or less, if you add a few mods, look into a 2.3 TB which is 56mm.... that should be more than enough

another quick question while your at it lol if i were to buy an ebay intake. (such as http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-99-00-01-Chevy-Cavalier-2-2L-Cold-Air-Intake-System_W0QQitemZ7998073654QQcategoryZ38634QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ) do you know if that will go right to throttle body and i wont need that dumb black box that has "2200" on it?
