Swap old exhaust and putted in new set up...Noise?
Tuesday, September 13, 2005 3:14 PM
Yesterday, I got a whole new setup, Brand New Magnaflow Exhaust and back to a new stock pipe from cat-back....with resonator.....after my custom 2.5 inch exhaust pipe fell off on the freeway this weekend, from the cat, where the idiot did a poor welding job.........Anyways, I got the new setup on her yesterday and there was no problem, then today whenever I step on the gas, I can here this ZZZZZ noise, it was annoying.....So I took it back to the shop and after wasting about 3 gallons of fuel (from pressing on gas) they found out that the noise was coming from the new resonator... Anyways, he said that the resonator just needed to "Break-in" and the Noise will stop...Is this true???

I don't know about that. I has a reasonator added to mine. sounded great from the get go, sure it may have broken in a bit but still sounds great. you'll have to see what everyone else says.

Right after a fresh exhaust job with a resonator, they always seem to make some wierd noises and funky smells for a few days. I don't necessarily understand the possibility of a "break-in" for a resonator... but I guess somehow there is.

a resonator would fix that.
