Rk Sport single exhaust recommendations?
Tuesday, September 13, 2005 4:31 PM
I just purchased a used RK Sport single cat exhaust. it hasn't come in the mail yet. I havn't done much reading on exhausts and I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations for the installation? What all would be involved and any advice on pain in the ass procedures i could avoid...or would it be better to just send it down to a shop?

Sorry for the noob question

Mine went on in about an hour, you are gunna need new bolts and nuts for the flange at the cat.

Install is easy.

I personally have this exhaust on my 2200 and I think that it sounds great. It is not even that loud unless you get over 3 grand.

Got mine on in about an hour too I'd say, pretty easy and straight foward install. I used a saw to cut the old piping and stuff off the car and that made it go a bit faster. I have the RKSport header as well, with no resonator and it sounds good other than first thing on a cool or cold morning. Needs a few minutes to warm up.

I've been running it since Aug 02 and no problems other than the hanger on the Magna Flow muffler broke off once and I had to have it welded back on. I took mine to a shop after I did the install to have it spot welded as well, just to make sure it was in place. Cost me $25 to have it done.

You should like it but like others have said, check you hardware first. Good luck with it.

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

there is a little tab welded on the pipe. i got a hanger off/ from a 4door cav and that helps tuck the exhuast up over the rear axle.
