honestly removing it will only make the car run like crap and its not worth the fines for the very minute if any gains and probably will sound like crap

It won't help if you have a N/A car and your car will sound like a weed eater.. Plus Check Engine.... limp mode..... so you are better to let it on or get an aftermarket one.

o really cuz on my other car it was a 2.5 straight threw all the way back to a muffler and it sounded nice, i wanted to get rid of the cat and go with new pipes all the way back again but if the ecotec sounds like @!#$ then nvm

Hey i just gotta quick question about the performance gains on taking off the cat and/or the muffler for track use(specifically just the muffler). Would there be any performance gains in an ecotec, disregarding the sounds coming out. Is it worth it? Thanks

no noticable performance gains unless youre running a VERY high performance n/a engine (im talking about pushing 250hp) or boosted. if boosted, cats are a power sucker.

What Rob said is correct...

It's been proven on a rolling road to actually loose power by removing the cat, so go for a 200 cell cat which gains @ 2 or 3 hp
