been talked about before. would never work on a factory ECU car.

not to mention the difficulties in making linkages

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

Individual Throttle Bodies

Looks neat, but hardly worth the cost or effort.

If there's one out there, I would think this would be the company that made it.

?????

Its not worth the cost or effort on a stock engine, but if you want to squeeze every bit of power out of a built all-motor setup, than ITB's or webers are the only way to go. If they weren't worth the effort than I highly doubt that half of the hondas in NHRA FWD All-Motor classes would use them like they do. Not to mention almost all GT Touring cars over in Europe.

Nothing sicker than high compression, wild cams, and 4 throttles screaming away at redline...

i wouldn't see ITB as a major advantage on, say, a J that you wanted to be as a drag setup. Now, I don't know why you would want to do this anyway, but I suppose the right amount of fabrication and tuning (once HPT is out) then it would work very well for a circle-track platform.

I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.

And why do you say that? ITB's and sidedraft webers have been the tops in 4 cylinder all motor induction for a long time. A lot of my VW compatriots use ITB's and webers to hit over 200whp on 2 liter 8V engines, and they were used in the 20v variant of the corolla 4age engine thats incredibly desirable to toyota enthusiats.

Granted, for the "ultimate drag car" than any all motor setup is going to come up lacking against a forced induction motor. But in so far as an all motor drag setup, ITB's or webers are going to make more power than the same engine with a conventional intake manifold.

Here! Look!

It's been DONE!!! YEARS AGO!!!

TOTALLY IMPRACTICAL FOR A NON-RACE-ONLY CAR!

Don't even THINK about wasting money on this ($1,500 at LEAST!) on a daily beater. Maybe if you didn't actually drive the car, just pushed it onto a trailer and off for the shows... and wanted points for bling-bilng-chrome-engine-pieces...

Gah....

Didn't miss it, but its not totally impractical. ITB's have been run on the street by a lot of people, it really depends on velocity stack length and the TB angle. Frankly, those ones aren't at nearly enough of a downward angle to match with the port angle of the engine, or at least they don't seem to be. Tuning has come a long way since the earlier days of the quad 4, ITBs when run with megasquirt or another standalone could be made to be friendly for the street also, although I do agree that they're more at home on a full race car.

Never done it on a J. But it's getting popular with Toyota drivers in D1 and Time Attack, and a lot of Honda guys use them in drag racing. For daily driving, it's not going to give you much if anything, but when you're drifting or drag racing where you're foot is in the firewall on a regular basis, ITBs can help when you need all the air flow the engine will handle. But as said before, forget about using a stock ECU. ITBs are a pain to tune but if you need unrestricted flow and high intake velocity, they work wonders.
