Ok guys. I would like to know which intake gives you the better performance. Is it the Secret Weapon intake (i thinks thats what it is called) or is the AEM cold air intake better?
My friend recently got an AEM cai for his Celica GT and it made the engine sound a lot deeper. Sounds more like a muscle car now. How does the Secret Weapon change the sound of your engine??
I don't think an intake changes the sound of your engine. You might hear a sucking noise when you press on the throttle, but it shouldn't actually change the sound of your engine.
I have the Secret Weapon intake, and I like it. I got the cold air box with it, so I can't hear it unless I pop the hood. But they aren't there for noise
I know they arent there for the noise. But the AEM changed the sound of my friends little celica quite a lot. But anyway, I just want some opinions on what works better, and what should work better. Sense both intakes are made different.
use the stock intake with a nice cone filter stuck on the end.
intakes can change sound.... some intakes are even tunable to where you can alter the sound to create resonance at different rpms...
the difference? well both intakes claim it outdoes the other, as with every company...
doubt either one is better than the other....as of yet an intake hasnt made anyone have a super car or a super engine.... well the non mechanical intakes. pick the brand you want to sport the stickers of and be happy.
pick whatever is cheaper

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
^ For an intake cheaper may be better (hmmm I should have learned that before

) The only sound it change is when your at high rpm (AEM in my case)
stock intake with a cone doesn't help much. You are still restricted by the piping diameter.

its my experience that weapon R products suck
^^^care to share ? I'm considering the dragon intake.

Get the Weapon R it has top secret DUAL TUBE TECHNOLOGY, which makes the air go like "wwwoooooooosshh" faster than any other intake and it is like a turbo and obviously so "TOP SECRET" that the airforce is still yet to put this onto their jet aircraft to increase jet propulsion so its more of like a "whooooooooo whoooooooshhh" but some have say that this photograph taken near Area 51 last week is proof Weapon R has licensed their top secret technology to the Skunkworks for the next generation of Mach 10 + aircraft!!!!

Ok guys. I am going to get the AEM cai. Now, I found a site that has several. But none of them say they work with the '05 Cavy. But they do say 02-04 2.2L Ecotec. Well first off, I have a 2.2L Ecotec. And the 03's to 05's are basically the same. So will the one that say its for the 2.2L 02-04 Cavy work with mine??
Yes you will be fine 05 is identical to 04 and 03.

Thanks for everyones help. I am going to be ordering my AEM cai soon. And after that I am getting a Borla 2.5 inch exhaust setup. To prepare my car for boost.
If you are going boost, don't bother with the intake because you will be selling that anyway, and go bigger than 2.5 cause that dosen't really cut it for boost. I ran a T3/T4 all summer and 2.5 wasn't big enough, I'm Going 3" to just infront of the rear tire, Its a real bitch getting 3 inch around the axle, it was aparently hard enough getting 2.5 past em. But definetly don't buy a intake if you are getting a turbo cause that will eliminate the CAI anyway
Ehh if its going to be 6 months before you get the turbo I would still say get the intake, find a cheap one or go with something used so you can get your money back out of it.

werd. you can always sell it on ebay.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
..or on the classifieds here!
...don't hate!.. respect people that have talent, even if it is in something you don't like or understand.
If you want an advice for the AEM cold air, put a rubber patch under your fuse block or it will rub against the shiney intake

, also don't forget the hole where the intake get down in the bumper. Mine have some scratch on it....

man, thats so damn funny. I know i'm a little late, but. I love my aem cai. But i honestly dont think there is that much of a difference. Everyone says they're the best, if there is a difference, it's mainly sound, performance i doubt you would ever notice a difference in like a ractive vs aem lol
go to pep boys, buy the aluminum piping, then get a k&n cone filter. you wont find anything that works much better than that.
Werd up there.
I'll have a sig someday....................
