Im looking at buying a second engine and I was wondering how heavy it will actually be to pick it up.

I'm pretty sure the bare block is like 75 lbs. complete running I'd say probly around 300
or so.

I would not want to try...

yes it will fit in the trunk of a cav , and i think with all the bolt on's on it it weights just under 300

take out the floor liner and put the motor on the spare. unless you liek crushed up fiber board.

i lifted an engine out of the car at the junkyard, granted it was a 2.2 ohv, the weight is similar to an ecotec....

lifted it by hand cause of no engine cranes allowed, stuffed it in the trunk, drove 20-30 miles home and lifted it out the trunk and up the stairs into my apt.

Nice and damn dude that had to be heavy I think I better get some help, anyone have a engine for sale within about 6 hours of Winnipeg Manitoba?

yeah but by the sounds of it this guy might be a hell of alot tougher than I am, it almost sounds like he works out or something like that. I'm way way way too lazy for that.

well i;ve lifted all major 3 so far... head and all....

eco and 2.2 ohv are around the 300-315 mark, 2.4 (carlos's engine we replaced) fully done was around 350-365...

i deadlift pretty constantly just from athletics...

yeah ill just make someone come on my engine buying adventure, i just had to drive 9 hours each way to pick up my brothers car so he owes me anyway
