Whats the weakest part of the Quad 4 Motor? I am in the process of building one. I am lowering the compression and making it turbo ready. Pistons and rods are being replaced but I am keeping the stock crank. Any details or advice would be appreciated.
My goal is 400+ hp.
Thanks
i think the head gasket was a problem with those motors

yes..the head gasket was the weakest link...replace it with a performance one and your good...as far as keeping the stock crank are you talking about a stock 95 crank? removing the B/S i hope??

Replacing the 2.4 pistons with lower compression pistons. Should I bore out the cylinders or leave it the same? Just wondering.
what 2.4 pistons are you refering to? if you have a quad you have 9 5 1 pistons..i would recommend an overbore though

I think he is. Sir, the LD9 might still sorta be called a Quad 4, but we tend to refer to the 2.4 as the 2.4 Twin Cam or the LD9. We all think of the Quad 4 on here as the 2.3 LO / HO / W41. Be careful which you specify.

The weakest links of the 2.4 are the oiling system and pistons.
