FUEL CONSUMPTION

on the obx header the hole for the o2 sensor is locate much lower than that of the stock header. what i did to get around that was to cut the wires on the o2 sensor then spliced in an extra 6" or so to make it longer. the problem I had at first was that i was running too lean, so i figured i had accidentally had the wires switched around. so i fixed that issue, but now my fuel gauge is doing this funky deal wher it is moving all over the place (i.e. from 3/4 a tank to a little above a 1/2 a tank) which occurs when i put the car in park or drive. ne 1 have any idea of what is causing this. do i have to unscrew the negative cable to the battery to reset the computer or something?

Mmm.... my 2000 had the exact same problem, and it was recalled for sulphur deposits (from the fuel additives) which corroded the silver contacts on the fuel level sensor.

So yeah... could be the fuel level sensor...

I had the same problem with my 01 cavy. Dunno why this worked, but I dumped a bottle of STP fuel injection cleaner in my car, and filled up with premium from chevron. I never had that problem again.

Getto, will it work for you, who know, but like I said it worked for me
