i have a 2.2l chevy cavalier and i was wondering what all i would need in order to turbocharge my engine. What are the parts i must have and which ones can i do w/o? please help
You're almost better off buying a full kit. Check out Hahn Racecraft or Cavalier Connection. There's one on the net from Landspeed Racing but I can't remember where I found it. It includes the front mount cooler, all the fittings, downpipe, everything. It even comes with secondary injectors and a "black box" type fuel control. It uses either a standart Garrett T28 or a T28 ball bearing unit. I recommend the ball bearing turbo for reliability and fast spool up. I'd also recommend a stronger set of rods and pistons. THis kit is tuned for 8psi but is capable of producing around 18psi, and that will definitely kill the stock rotating assembly. I'm working on putting together a low-buck alternative, pirating parts from other cars and kits and making my own parts where I can, but unless you know what you're doing, get a kit from a dealer.

I will agree with that comment if you're not educated on Turbochargers and can't answer the following:
What does a Turbocharger do?
How does it effect your motor?
What is PSI?
How do you "Tune" your vehicle?
and other general Boost knowledge.
Tommy, if you have more questions, keep yourself in the Boost Forum and you will learn alot there as well.
