Hey, I have been searching now for a while but couldnt find any info that answers my questions so I was hoping someone could help. I have an AEM alternator pulley I want to install on my car and in the future I want to get a crank pully. Question 1. Should I wait and do both at the same time and question 2. If I dont wait and only install the alternator pully will it throw off my timing or anything? I have heard good things about the pullys so I do want to complete this mod soon. Thanks in advance. Rob.
Ok, I'll answer your questions:
1. It really doesn't matter if you install it now or later because they can work with or without each other.
2. As long as both or either pulley is the stock size and not an underdrive pulley, it will not effect your charging system.
With these pulleys, you'll notice slightly better revving.
Good luck.

ok cool. Thanks. Whats the difference between a crank pully and underdrive pully?
an underdrive pulley is a crank pulley but is smaller than the stock one. these are made by RKsport and Unorthadox racing. if you dont want any issues with your charging system, i would suggest a stock size pulley that is just lightened. RSM sells the lightweight pulley for the crank, same size as stock and only weighs 12 ounces (lightest on the market). im sure that if there is anything i forgot someone else will chime in.

So would a lighter pulley put out better HP or just better revs? also if your running a stereo system and you want an alternator pulley would it be better to get a bigger one, smaller one or same size and lighter?

Well messing with an alternator pulley or crank pulley will on give you minimal gains and you will notice it slightly, so saying will it give more horsepower or not is something that I can't answer really. Generally doing a lighter pulley will just give you the ability to slightly rev faster.
If you want an alternator pulley for performance reasons, stay with the stock size just so you don't run into any charging issues.

hmmmm, i think im going with the RSM on, I Only got a small 120 watt amp on my 6x9's and a motorized in dash tv radio And led underbody kit. So with the rsm pully Isouldnt notice and diffrence with my electrical right? And also what other type of helper mod helps with acceleration ?
Beware the Rouge Dragon.

Since it's stock size, no, there should be no problems (or difference).

Pretty much any type of bolt on or engine modification will help with acceleration...just depends on how much you want to spend and what your goal is as far as power.
