BYE BYE POWER STEERING LINE

so has anyones stock motor mounts gave out...causing your aftermarket pacesetter header to rub against your metallic high pressure power steering line? severing it and causing all the fluid to drain out in 10 seconds!??!?!

because that happened to me saturday.

me = not happy.

that's why you should either do solid mounts first, or incorporate a flex pipe

lol that's where you went wrong bro. first step is always solid mounts with these cars. never trust GM parts for anything combined with aftermarket parts. the two don't get along.

cant say ive ever heard of it with any other header

try some maintenance. i have only had a dog bone go bad on me. i replaced it instantly with a poly...... but do both mounts with poly you will likly never have the problem again

yup sinrocker is right. you will only get the advantage if you do both the mounts, not just one.

i found out some disturbing news.

my car has been in a previous wreck. it was supposidly repaired.

the impact from the accident must have damaged my upper motor mount, so it finally gave in. causing the header to flex into the line uncontrollably.

so i think car star, people who fixed it before will take the repairs....hopefully.

happened to me with the downpipe from my turbo... i hear that the upper mount will stop it from happening again.
