Motor mounts

Hey what up peepz. Just wanted to get your opinion on the car customs motor mounts. Are they good, bad, or in between. Also I heard from some people that it causes vibration. How much vibration does it cause is it unbearable or just a shake? Well that's all I like to know. Thanx 4 tha info.

I'll just try and say this first.

Don't expect huge gains...you'll notice better response slightly but that's about it. The vibrations are nothing as well. Some will say "the vibrations are annoying" but seriously, those people are just way too sensitive.

I have those mounts (except ECOTEC upper mount) and yeah there are more vibrations but it's nothing really. You only notice it when you're idle.

By the way, the reason you feel more vibrations is because normally your engine moves around in your engine bay (nothing extreme but it moves) and with the mounts, it stiffens the motor to stay in place. Now because it's completely still, the energy of the motor is being transfered to the chassis which is why you feel the vibrations.

They are worth the buy...go for it.

I got mine in about 2 weeks ago. I notice a lot of vibration when accelerating slowly from a stop. Also another strange noise started in my engine right after I put them in sounds almost like a quiet BOV when i let off the gas after accelerating.... It's not a tranny noise cause it does it when I'm sitting still w/o clutch or moving. I would take them out but it's too much work. Sorry to make the decision harder

i have them. they are great, get them. To solve the shaking...a lil dynamat under the dash works wonders. I noticed better takeoff off the line and the intake sounded louder.

I like the torque transfer!!!
I installed all four mounts and a stage three clutch at the same time and it was very fun to drive after that.
I wore out a set of tires in just one summer since I was breaking them loose so often!

If you have a manual the car just feels so much more solid when shifting. The biggest thing I noticed was before I had the upper mount, when I floored it, the car bogged slightly, now it responds very well and doesn't bog whatsoever.

Ok it seems evident that everyone should change the stock motor mounts out. Where do I get them. I saw a "how to" guide on how to add an upper engine mount insert, but thats it. Where do I buy the "good" engine mounts? Im still new to the Jbody worlD I dont know whats good and where to gt the best stuff thanks.

Solid mounts are solid mounts. Very necessary in these cars in all honesty. Just buy them and get it over with.

Most def... I want to get some mounts I just dont know where... But I can get any solid mounts? These arent inserts right, they are a full replacement piece, right? Any suggestions or names that I can search for? Also are solid motor mounts still suggested for a daily driver.

Buy them from Karo at CarCustoms. Lower dogbone mount = replacement. Upper = prothane insert. And he ships for free. FAST.
