hey guys i just got my pacesetter ceramic coated header for my cav and ive been told that the gasket that it comes with is complete garbage, so my ? is whats should i do here? use the pacesetter gasket?, try to save the original stock gasket?, or go buy a dif one, and if so any recomendations? thanks
ive personally had no issues at all with my pacesetter gasket on my eco

The one, the only, ME.
go to autozone and buy a new stock cavalier gasket, i think mine was 13$, because i just got the pacesetter header and got this cause i was told the pacesetter one was garbage too and to just get another stock gasket.been on for two weeks and no problems yet.
Go pick up a brand new felpro gasket. That's the only way to go

so just the stock replacement is the best bet?

Yes.
Or...if you want to get some high quality stuff, go to Car Customs site and he sells a top knotch Header Gasket for the ECOTEC.

I got the pacesetter header and bought a felpro gasket for it, sealed good and is holding strong
i got a pacesetter for my 2.4 and used the pacesetter gasket, been on since begining of summer and no issues
I still have the factory gasket on and no problem yet.... (the pacesetter one is still in a box somewhere just in case....
well i have 47000 km's on my car do u think the stock gasket is still good? i can always change it later on
I also used the stock gasket.

Didn't knew that, then a new one is better. Mine just have 21000km on it so..
i used the one pacesetter sent me and it been on for bout 6 months no problems and seals good ... but i wish i woulda went with a stock gasket to be honest . but oh well when it leaks i will change it .
When I got my header I just used the stock gasket that was on my car and I had between 45,000 and 50,000 and now I about 61,000 miles and its still good. It's a 2.4 if that makes a diffrence but I doubt it does.
if stock is good enough why are you chaning you header to a pacesetter ???? if you have a cahnge upgrade soething easy like that go with a high quality aftermarket man
theyre talking about the gasket not the header itself. the pacesetter header is better than stock, but the stock gasket is better than the one provided by pacesetter, so most of us wound up ditching the stock header for the pacesetter unit, but threw out the junky pacesetter gasket in place of the nice gm unit

yeah, well i ended up using my old 60,000 mile factory gasket, since i Discount doesn't even carry a header gasket for the ECOTEC..... it works fine.....
