Is this resonator a decent substitute?

I got the following e-mail from JEGS.com:

Quote:

Thank you for you recent internet order.

This email is to inform you that the part number shown below is currently out of stock.

Back ordered part # Description/Price ETA
387 50225 PURPLE HORNIE 2 1/4IN/OUT 23.99 11/09/05

Cross reference part # Description/Price Availability
289 24201 MUFFLR MAG-GLA 25"L 2.25" 19.99 in stock

If you wish to order the crossover part or have any other questions please call us...

Is this alternate resonator worse in any way? Should I wait for the purple hornie to get in stock, or is there no quality/sound decrease in switching to the longer 'Dynomax' glasspack resonator?

Thanks!

-Matt

You bought the dynomax one eh?

Is there any difference in sound, seeing that the Dynomax one is 24" as opposed to the 18" purple hornie?

I have the dynomax, I would not want to hear my exhaust without it!

Uh oh, are you implying that this particular resonator makes your exhaust super quiet?

I'd like loud, but consistant/deep..

Mine is now where near quiet, I like the tone. At WOT its a little to loud but no rasp.

i have the 25" dynomax too, i fully agree with Fire Fighter about not wanting to hear the exhaust without it. i am thinking about adding another shorter one to the mix

Hmm, I suppose I'm sold then. Loud, deep, smooth, that's what I want. I was just afraid that 24" was so long that it would be quiet.

I would also add another shorter one if I thought it would fit, I don't think there is one short enough but big enough to make a difference.

Are you talking about the purple ones on jegs.com. Glasspack? Same thing or not?
