it should be almost the same if its 2.2ohv. I dont think the duel exhaust will hurt your engine.

you can buy a kit to do the p&p yourself from Standard Abrasives. run a quick search and you'll find all the info you need. if you want to buy a head that was already p&p, I believe the only current source is patriot performance. run that in a search and you'll find plenty of info as well.
good luck

That's kind of a general statement. Your cams, cam gears & cylinder head components are part of your valvetrain.

It all depends on what kind of port and polish job you get, whether you get a 3 angle or 5 angle valve job. Also, you should change your cylinder head internals as well, a porting & polish will only do so much, building up your head will help in other areas like faster revving and higher revs.

If you plan to stay all motor, I say check out Patriot Performances Stage 1 head...it's a complete package and it's basically what you need. If you're going boost, go with the stage 2 head.

If you're looking for numbers like "This mod will give you X amount of HP", well no one can answer that for you. The only way to know your gains is to dyno your car before and after this work is done.

I just checked out the jtuners site, and it looks like they now offer CNC ported heads for the 2.2L and eco WITH flow bench #s...like $550, which isn't really that bad seeing as you know exactly what you're getting, and can have a cam matched up perfectly.

just wondering why is the ohv head way cheaper than the ecotec head. i was barely gettign excited about the bare head being 550 cuz i had ordered some other stuff and then i see the price for the eco head. would it be cheaper to by a bare head and have it ported and polished at a machine shop. sorry for thread jacking just wondering before i spend my money

There are a couple reasons why patriots prices are different for the 2200 OHV motor and the ECOTEC motor.

Remember, the OHV motor has 8 valves, the ECOTEC (DOHC) has 16 valves. So the OHV has less ports to actually work on than the ECOTEC. Also, the packages they offer, the ECOTEC packages have full cylinder head rebuilds with all the components being replaced, the OHV only is an head port & polish job and nothing else. So in the end, the ECOTECs are spending more money on more parts and more work to be done.
