I feel like a newbiw but here we go:
My Cavalier stock exhaust system has me frustruated.so what the size i should go with and how will my gas milage be affected
well, if your going to boost it go with 2.5", but if your gonna stay N/A then go with 2.25". as for the gas mileage, keep your foot out of it and it shouldnt change much at all.

I 3rd that. Although sometime I find myself sometimes laying into the throttle just to hear the sweet tones coming from my tailpipe
ok 2.25 exhaust it is. what about headers?? are the worth my time or not?

Yes. If you're opening up your exhaust system, you should open it up completely. A partial exhaust upgrade will only do so much. Try and keep everything the same size as well (diameter size). Also, upgrade your catalytic converter as well (2 1/4" inch inlet/outlet).
