Hopefully some one out there has a head disassembled or the specs I need. Anyone with access to machine shop manuals might have these answers. I have the Chevy Power Guide(6th edition) with the 2.0L build-up, but it doesn't list the needed information.
1. I need the valve spring seat pocket outside diameter and the diameter of the valve guide boss / inner spring guide, i.e. up to what size valve spring (ID & OD) will fit without machining?
2. Also, does anyone have the '91 or older spring retainers(GM Part # 10045007) ? If so, what is the outside and inside diameters of the spring seat? Will the newer (7mm) locks (keepers) fit properly in the keeper grove and is there any change in the installed hight?

I'm out of posts, but here you go:
The factory valve spring seat plate reads 1.250" OD and 0.870" ID.
The valve guide OD is only 0.585" though and the seat machined on the head is 1.380", and I'm sure those plates could be swapped out.

As you can see OHV notec got me the answer to the first question, now all I need is the valve spring retainer specs!
I'll try and get that for you tomorrow or Tuesday while I have my head apart, if no one has got that for you yet
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
That's good, because I didn't get to remove the valves from my spare head today to take any measurements. Spent most of the day cutting and splitting wood.
