I was just wondering what would be the Muffler of choice around here??? I have an '05 cavi and am thinking about having my exhaust changed up in spring to a 2.25" cat-back just from a local exhaust shot and a new muffler

You can't go wrong with Magnaflow. I love my setup and I think it sounds great. It depends on your preferences on whether you should get a resonator or not, but many do purchase one to smooth the tone out.

where did you guys all get your magnaflow mufflers and resonators??? and what exactually does the resonator do??? in all honesty I have never had any experiences with resonators...where do you put it, like right after the cat or right before the muffler or what???

I purchased my mufflers from a local performance shop.
A resonator goes between your catalytic converter and muffler(s). I would be more apart of your piping to keep the volume down.

I got my Magnaflow setup from a wholesale shop on e-Bay. They had great service and great ratings. You can shop around locally or pick one up online. To add to what NJHK said, a resonator will basically smooth out your tone and deepen it. You won't hear any pops and distortions in the sound of the exhaust and it won't be as loud, either.

That depends on how big it is. The bigger, the less noise.

It's suggested that if you live in an area with alot of road salt used (say you have bad winters), it will rust out...so it's not popular to use and not recommended to use around here. It's cheap for a reason.

LOL yeah I'm sure it is and theres a TON of salt used around here...looks like a custom bent 2.25" system for me with Aluminized tubing

Im looking to put a exhaust on my 05 cavalier. Anyone have experience with either the Pace Setter Monza single, or the RK sport single cat-back. Thanks
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
Ive had the Pacesetter Monza CatBack on my CavZ for over 2 years now. I have absolutedly no rust (and NE Ohio road crews love the salt) but the muffler that came with the set up kinda sucks. Soon after installing my exhaust the muffler started rattling pretty bad. I put up with it for a while but the ever existant Electric Maracca on the back of my car finally ticked me off enough to hack it off and put another muffler on. I did however like the look of the exhaust tip of the Pacesetter. I may have just gotten a bad one, but over all I rate the Catback excellent!!!
am I the only one with a flowmaster in here? I think they are a bit more restrictive but they sound great.
^^^nope i've got 2 flowmaster 40series deltaflows on mine and it sounds mean as hell, deep and no rasp at all... i'm changing to the rksport duals tho this summer... cuz i dont like the DTM tips i got and the cat-back piping was done @!#$ty...
Not to jack the thread too much, but how long are the factory resonators? Just curious. I don't feel like crawling under my car and measuring tonight.
