trying to figure out what to do. have a freind that says he can replace the cat with a solid pipe and install the o2 sensor in that. this would cost me about 5 bucks. as i am sure you all know a high flow cat is a much greater cost. would their be any gain to going with the solid pipe or with the hiflow? apreciate everyones helpfulness on here....i am always loaded with questions

if you run a test pipe and an o2 sensor u will get a CEL. you would have to get an o2 sim, not cheap, but from the information that i have gathered, the o2 sims dont last that long, and arent that great for your car. u might as well get a good high flow cat like the magnaflow 94035 and call it a day.

unless you are running in excess of about 8 psi, the complete loss of backpressure will offer you no gains. just buy a high flow catalytic converter from Magnaflow.

you might gain a little top end. not really a noticable amount, but your low end will flat out SUCK.
