Full exhaust questions
Monday, November 21, 2005 8:45 AM
Im in the process of doing some small performance upgrades on my car. I have a 97 2.2, i want to do full 2.25 or 2.5 exhaust. problem being is the second o2 sensor. Have any of you put a full exhaust on and still used both o2 sensors with no problems? ive been looking into o2 simulators but from some things ive read they will still throw some codes.

Don't want to jack your thread but I hope that you'll plan on boosting if you go as large as 2.5" piping. If not, that size pipe could make you lose some power.

Blown.

lol i am boosting, but i didnt want to say to much about it, things tend to get moved to the boost section pretty quick.

Not in this case it shouldn't.

The sensors should work fine.

yeah 2.25" should be fine. 2.5" is ok for a 2.4, i have that and no noticeable power loss. plus if you are not getting mandrel bent 2.5" should be fine.

You can use your stock cat, though it would be in your best interest to go ahead and buy a magnaflow high flow 2.25" diameter cat with the o2 bung in it. Just do an application search and go .25" larger. I dunno what their part number is off the top of my head.
