The code I got on my Ecotec was p0107, low voltage map sensor. If you add in a resistor between two of the wires, it corrects that.

If your car throws a code that means your check engine light comes on. If you have to ask that, maybe you shouldn't be installing this.

i am not istalling this, a shop is, and they are dyno tuning it too, i was just wondering, because there the vw i drove before my cavi never turned on the check engine light unless it was a major problem w/ the motor.

Well then, I hope for your sake that you're not installing this, because your ECU can throw a code without the light coming on. As Siler&Black said, it just depends on the severity of the offense.

Just so you know, that code only comes on for a very short period of time. Say if you start up your vehicle and that comes on, when you start driving, maybe 30 seconds later, it will turn off. It's a short appearing code.

Now, if you throw a resistor, yeah, it will get rid of the code but remember, an SAFC-2 is like an electronic resistor already, so you would have to tune incorrectly to what the SAFC says (example: Your SAFC would say -5 but you would really be at 0). Adding the other resistor will send a signal to send more fuel so you would have to tune it down or up according to the addition fuel amount.

I hope that makes sense to you.

In my opinion, it's not really worth doing if you have a code for a serious short period of time and doesn't effect you afterwards.
