Umm...you know you pretty much just bought a stock exhaust system, right?

Yeah. Considering I live in California, I cannot upgrade to an aftermarket catalytic converter. As its been said many time, the exhaust will only flow as well as the smallest part, which is the tubing before and after my cat. Besides, I'm not gonna fret over a few horsepower that might possibly be gained my going with a 2.25" exhaust system.

I understand where you're coming from and you're right about the smallest part. A few horsepower, I'd say you'd gain more than 3 HP in any normal circumstances but yeah I see your point. Even with that said, you really just bought a pretty exhaust system that you won't see...you would have gotten the same outcome by just changing your muffler and tip and had the same effect.

I just love Borla and couldn't pass up the opportunity to get one, considering they have been discontinued. Plus I doubt I'd be able to just weld up a muffler and get it to sound as nice as the Borla system. Plus its made of T304 stainless steel, and has a million mile warranty so I'll never have to worry about it rusting out and falling apart.
I believe its 18", but i'm not exactly sure.
Nice find!
Now hook it up and enjoy!

For real , some people just have to stop trying to tell people what they should do with their money. Its his money , let him buy what he wants.
That looks like a nice sleeperish exhaust man , have fun with it and i hope it sounds good

.
not bad....
good sized BIG muffler and a resonator....
the know how to build an exhaust.
the resanator is prob 14" , there are alot of unecessary bends in the system
honestly you woulda been better off with a magnaflow , 1 from them not rk
not sure who the clown was that kept bidding it up with 0 feedback , lol
i was the 1 that sent you the info through ebay , lol
I personally don't like the way the Magnaflow systems are designed. Magnaflow obviously didn't spend much time designing and fittting their exhaust system, seeing how their system just hangs there and doesn't tuck up under the car the way the Borla system does. Besides that I saved over $200 going with this system over the Magnaflow. Also, I really don't need any larger than 2" for the small amount of power my motor is putting out. I wanted a Borla exhaust system, and I got what I wanted. Thats all that matters.
the magnaflow 1's ive seen tuck up , the rk 1 on my 00 tucks up
just curious what was your max bid on it ??
where in cali are you ?
I agree that the magnaflow does tuck. Except for the muffler which just kinda hangs there, and IMO, looks a little tacky the way it does. You can barely see the Borla muffler once its mounted, and it looks stock except for the tip. Thats what I was going for. I live about 20 minutes from San Francisco.
real magnaflow systems tuck up...
if they dont, then its whoever installed its error.... mufflers dont just hang there unless you let em....
the way you install something has all the world to do with apperance... the same thing can happen with your new exhaust as well....

Umm...if you're refering to me, I never told him what he should and shouldn't buy. I was letting him know from the beginning that what he bought was basically his stock exhaust system minus a bigger resonator and new muffler. He explained why he bought it and I fully understood. The only reason I said that to him is because some people don't read the details of what they buy and expect to recieve a 2 1/4" exhaust system when they aren't.

i have to agree with njhk...why pay that much for something thats not gonna give you anything.. it wasnt exactly cheap
FACT : Statistics show that you are more likely to to be hit by lightning than to die street racing.
the system was alot better deal before some guy with 0 feedback ran the price up
cause i was considering it for my 97 cav , since i need a close to stock so i can sell it , and it would have fit the bill in the lower price range , since i dont want a performance system , easier to sell with out 1
as long as he is happy with it , which is all that really matters
i was kinda hoping your were in so cal , i woulda like to hear what it sounded like , since im always in so cal , oh well
enjoy the system

Of course he is going to buy a close to stock looking exhaust systems because he cant change his cat. Why would he go out and get one custom bent and a bigger size, when he isnt going to get any performance from it? Ide prefer buying something easy to install and for a fairly cheap price , over getting something custom bent that really isnt worth it.

What you quoted was stating after the fact. I think you totally overlooked what I said earlier:
NJHK wrote:I understand where you're coming from and you're right about the smallest part.
All I was saying was that his stock exhaust system is 2", he would have gotten the same effect if he changed his muffler and tip because honestly, no one will see underneath his car to see his piping and what it looks like and like you said he isn't getting much (if any) performance gain from it.

Well, i got the exhaust system today and installed it. It sounds absolutely beautiful, and I can feel quite a bit of difference compared to the stock system. I would say that it actually fit better than the stock system. My only complaint would be that the tip sticks out about 1/2" past the edge of the cutout on the stock bumper, but i'm just anal about stuff like that. I'll try to get some pics taken when its light out tomorrow.
Awesome!
It's nice to hear Jbody members putting on quality exhaust systems and not just clamping on huge fart cans.

im not going to say it was a waste but i got my header and cat and resonator and piping all for just bout $300 and its all 2.25 but i can see to being in Cali sucks. you all can use CARB legal stuff though right? and honestly if its an OBDII compatible cat it really doesnt change emissions as far as i know, pretty stupid law that you cant change the stock one
glad your happy with it though and still not a bad price for a borla setup

The one, the only, ME.
cool im glad your happy with it
if you have any way to take sound clips i wouldnt mind hearing it
