I really wanna turbo mine but I want some advice. First off, my car has 132k miles which were 99% Grandma driven. Car seems to be in good running condition. with the automatic trans. Does the trans for a 97 2200 4spd. hold up with more power? You think Id break something expensive if I ran somewhere around 10 lbs.? Figuring I had the heavier injectors and nessasary stuff. And where did you get your pcm flashed? How much did the total project cost around? I have a bunch of questions, any advice would be cool. if I did turbo this car, it would be a great sleeper.. 4 door. Thanks, -Phil

First, maybe try the boosted forum...and try reading the FAQ at the top as well.
Second, I had a 99% grandma driven car blow after a month of 9psi, so don't assume that's going to save you.
Third, you don't have a 2200. That engine didn't go into production cars until 1998.
Third, the older 2.2L (like yours) has side-feed injectors. Read up on them in the current thread in the boosted forum (basically just tells you that you're screwed without some major work, but tells you why, and how to fix it).
Fourth, the 4spd auto tranny is the worst (I think dragracemyz24 will back that up).
Fifth, you can't really get your PCM 'flashed'. Supposedly jbodyperformance offers a service to this effect, but it's really a guess and check process.
Your best bet is to buy a boost-sensitive rising-rate FPR, and live with 5psi or so on a medium-sized T3.

better a delay than a disaster.
Don't listen to anyone who tells you that the 4T40E Transmission won't hold power. As long as it was and is in a good condition, it will be fine. The biggest killer of the 4 speeds is heat.

I think what notec is trying to say is, 132K is A LOT of mileage... the engine and transmission would at the very LEAST need to be rebuilt before considering performance work. If I were you, i'd build it up with forged internals at the same time since you're going to have to do it anyway.
132K on any automatic is grounds for a rebuild... try calling around to local trans shops and see if anyone is willing to work with you to reinforce/improve it somewhat.
Basically, you're going to need to spend a pretty penny to turn the car into something race-worthy, you may be better off trying to sell it and pick up something with lower mileage...
