so what all would i need to do to swap a newer 2200 engine with less miles on it into my 99. guess i finally got talked into keeping my 2200 seeing the numbers people are starting to dyno. with just a few bolt ons.
im wanting at least 200 whp out of this engine. so i decided to just go out and find a newer 2200 enigine with less miles and swap it into my 99. so that i could build it outside of the car and avoid down time...

Since they are both 99+ there is no EGR to worry about. Are these both manual cars or automatic. In 00 they switched from Izuzu to Getrag, so the transmissions are the only major difference.

you got it. i'm not sure if the Getrag and Izuzu mounts are the same. My guess is probably not. And I'm not sure whether there are PCM differences in 99 - 00 but you probably will need the 00 PCM as well

All you need is a motor. I would not worry about tranny. Unless you really want a getrag tranny. If that is the case, you will need to do some welding. Also if you find a motor for a auto, no big deal, just use your flywheel (which you will have to do), unless doing tranny swap as well.
