another exhaust opinion needed

I am looking to run low boost on a daily driver within the next year or so, so I plan on having a 2.5 diamater exhaust compression bent at a shop here shortly.

im asking for recommendations on a muffler, obviously one that has at least a 2.5 inlet. what i dont want is one that sounds like a freakin bumble bee, i dont mind reasonably large mufflers, but im really trying to avoid a milk can hanging off the back of my car. i guess something mellow, low, and not too annoyingly loud. i would also like it to just be a single exit muffler, none of those little guys with two pipes coming out of one muffler (dont have anything against them, just not what im looking for)

any advice/soundclips/anything or something blatantly obvious im missing you could inform me of would be great.

thanks in advance everyone.

Well the "bumble bee" sound is usually due to the lack of resonators combined with the muffler. I say go with an oval style muffler like the ones Magnaflow sells. They are beautiful and sound nice. Mine sounds good and I don't have any resonators.

If you want sound clips of mine, let me know.

Pretty ironic...

Well, all resonators do is keep the tone down on your exhaust systems. The bigger the resonator, the lower your tone will be. The resonator is basically a tube. You can also use a glasspack like a cherrybomb to do the job of resonating.

If you want to read up on resonators, you could find TONS of threads on this topic..here you go:

Search Results: Resonators

Good luck with your decision.

i was looking at the cherrybomb glasspacks, for some reason i have yet to explain, i just cant seem to make myself want one.

i should have been a little clearer, i know what resonators DO, i just dont know much about them past that though, more to the point where they sit in the exhaust setup. thanks for the advice on that anyway however, all is appreciated.

what truly curious about I wonder how feasible it is to get my exhaust setup, and then if i decide i want one, to get it installed afterwards...

I have to say i like the look of alot of the tenzos though plus they are on sale woooo

Well, there isn't much to resonators really. The resonator would go somewhere in between your catalytic converter and your muffler and of course be welded into your cat-back piping.

If you take your car to a professional welder, anything is possible. Any shop that tells you "this can't be done" is full of it, they just don't want to do it. It should actually be easy to put the resonator on the piping from a welders stand point.

Those mufflers don't look that bad but just not my style...to me they all look about the same and most of them sound the same as well. I'm just biased to the oval style mufflers lol

Thanks for appreciating the help. If you have anymore questions, just ask.
