I feel like a complete tard asking this question, but I'm stuck here and need some suggestions and the ECOTEC sticky doesn't cover this question.
I'm asking this and I want answers based on personal experience, not on companies' claims. (And yes -- NJHK (That Black Guy) -- I wanna hear from you on this)
What would be better to spend money on right now---- throttle body or crank pulley?
Mods as of right now are listed in registry.
I was thinking of adding cams later on down the road (closer to spring), but i'm not sure if I will or not.
thanks guys.
Either or can be ok. The only downside to going with say a 62 MM TB is that it may effect your powerband and you might not like it.
Of course, I bought both of them before boost so you can't really listen to me lol. Don't get me wrong, the Throttle body did help and was a noticeable gain but there might be a slight shift in your powerband though.
If you want to play it safe, go with the Crank Pulley. If you have no high power stereo, go with an underdrive and you'll be fine.
BTW, glad you read the sticky

Any other questions?

Installation wise I say throttle body.
It winter, cold, and not fun to be having to work outside.
And you can put on the tb with regular hand tools.
But if none of that is a big deal, get either or.
You figure to get them all anyway so it shouldn't matter
Have fun,

Remember....syringes go in the RED waste basket.
I say pulley
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
A toss up to me really, without any other big mods such as boost or n2o you not going to see a big gain from the tb. I say do whatever costs less right now.

sorry bout the title. it was supposed to read better "bang for the buck"
I forgot quotes mess it all up. stoopid noob!
Thanks for the advice. I think i'll go with the pulley. However, which is better, underdrive or lightened?
pulley
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
hmmm, now I know what will be my next mod

Thx
welcome
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
I say go with pulley. The reason for this is i noticed that it is significantly smoother to actually get intot he power band after the pulley install.

Underdrive would yield more power, but not a huge amount over the lightened. It may also hinder the charging system. (Diming lights at idle, or not producing enough charge for the battery) but that mostly happens to people with HIDs, or a large system.
Personally I'm going with a lightened pulley, but I think you would be fine with the underdrive.
i have my RSM lightened crank pulley f/s if anyone wants it. pm or email me if you interested.
