I am wondering if anyone knows if the new Pontiac G6 GTP 3.9L Supercharged engine would fit in a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire. I am not worried about the cost issue, and I am also aware that many components must also be changed in order for the engine to even work. Thanks in advance and I appreciate any tips or ideas.
Im thinking that the 3900 is similar to the old 3800 series, so i would check into that. Im also thinking that the 3x00 series is more compatible, as the tranny is the same on the N-Body, and the new Epsilon platforms to the J Body (4t40e), i have seen a 3800 in a Sunfire, but not sure if it was scrapped before it was done or not, just search 3800 Sunfire..

also, personaly i would go with an LSJ if you are interesting in swapping in newly designed motors.

yeah, it's doesn't weigh as much as the 3800 and can handle the power no problem

At first glance i thought it was just a changed 3800, similar to the new 3500, but when i looked her up, seemed like a killer motor, VVT, and variable intake too!! Makes the G6 GTP look like a sporty coupe.
