so another question, i have a 99 z24. i jsut bought a wrecked 97 for the motor and tranny to put in mine, is there anyhting different or no? what do i ned to change?
Well your 99 motor is probably the one without the egr crap.. The 97 motor you just bought has the egr.. Its a hassle I heard but there's ways around getting rid of it if you want to.

All I know is that you need the egr block off plate first of all.. Anything else, im not sure.

i think i can help you out . ive swapped about 6 of these over b4.. there really isnt much difference.. one thing you can do is use your head off your 99 and put it on the 97 engine .. this would disable the complete egr system. or you can remove the Egr itselft and buy the block off plates. if you do this you will need to swap out the intake manifold also, and exhaust mani. or you can just put the enigne in .. swap out the exhaust mani and not even worry about the egr being there. it will do nothing to your vehicle and in the way it runs. but you must change over the exhaust mani to fit your 99 exhuast. this is it .. (the only other difference is the injectors 99 up are high impedance. but you can use the 97 ones in your car.) if i was personally swapping it would depend on what i want to do with the car.. if just a daily driver . jus change the exhaust mani. if your going to go performance. mies well just switch over the whole head. and replace the gasket while your at it . and not even mess with block off plates. i hope this helps

thank you so much. i do not want to take my motor apart so where can i get this block off plate? and my 99 was turboed so will the turbo mani fit on the 97? thanks again you are HUGE helps!!!
