I was wondering in it will work with the stock lifters, and springs, or do I have to buy their lifters and springs, thanks in advance
Yes, all their camshafts (and for the most part, most companies who sell "street camshafts") don't require upgrading the rest of the valvetrain. Now, you could if you wanted to and trust me it helps but of course you don't have to.

You do need to replace your lifters, with OEM or aftermarket ones. But thats recommened with any camshaft install.

He's asking if it will work on a stock valvetrain, the answer is yes.
Why would he replace his stock lifters with another set of stock lifters? I don't understand what you're saying...
Also, most companies will say that they recommend you doing something for your insurance but if it will work for a period of time, yes...example: You can turbo a stock bottom end to an extent...the company that sells the turbo kit might recommend you replacing your pistons and rods but will it work, yes.

i know the ecotec is a different engine but i had no problems with JBP stage 2s for the eco on my stock lifters

The one, the only, ME.
I would replace the lifters if i were you.Since your car is a 97,most likey you have alot of miles on it.Over time the cam lobes wear and so do the lifters. If you read the repair manual, its says not to mix up the lifters. So when you put new cams in you are mix matching the lifters.Im sure someone can explain it better than me.

NJHK is right, you dont have to replace the lifters.. Ive emailed JBP about this very same question. Id recommend buying BRAND NEW stock lifters though. Thats what im doing with my new valvetrain setup..

I would understand if you're replacing your stock lifters for another set of stock lifters because they are more "worn" cause of high mileage being on your motor but if you're going to replace them anyways, might as well go aftermarket.

How much do you think lifters are?
They're expensive. And you need 16 of them.
Last time I looked aftermarket ones were like $65 CAD each... x 16.
JBP is going to take my lifters, re-machne them and treat them so they are stronger than stock.
Power costs money, boys. It sucks, but it's true.

Yes I know that. But I have a 2.2 swapping in a 2.4 thats why I didnt know they were that much, because I never had to price them.

With the small lifter pushrod motors, you should change the lifters with a cam swap, and often times they were due for a chnge, anyway. With the OHC motors, with large lifter diameter, large base circle diameter, and good oiling, they last almost indefinitely. I've pulled over 1200 of these type of liters in the last few years, and seen less than a handful of bad ones. Those, I think were collapsed in the center from sitting at full lift for several years.
You do not need to replace them, unless you can see very obvious wear/damage.
I would replace or resurface the lifters when using new cams. Also, be sure yo bear them in right.

GM recommends you replace the lifters when you replace a camshaft. The reason being is b/c the cam will leave its finger print on the lifter, sometimes you can get away with it and reuse your lifters if there isn’t much wear, but sometimes you cant, and the car will run improperly if you use worn lifters. That’s why I said that you replace them. Understand now?

I think you overlooked that I answered my own question before hand

I'm assuming like most aftermarket vs. oem parts, they are more durable and stronger.
