2.4 rebuild?

yes i have searched for it before you tell me, thankx. ok i figured the best thing to do is rebuild my engine since its going up rather then get a new one. i have about 2000. someone told me i should get pistons with higher compression and ill notice a nice difference. i dont want it to be stock parts to much since im already taking it apart so i might as well get some performance stuff. what do you guys suggest to give it more kick? giving the money i hvae to spend.

check out jbp. they have killer engine kits and setups. They start at $2800USD (when you send your core engine) and go as high as mount everest in pricing. someone'll post the link.

depends on the cash you have.....

either get some aftermarket (wiseco, je.....) pistons, in a stock compression, and throw in a N/A Cometic head gasket (will bump up the compression) and have your head shaved .010" (will also bump the compression up) ....... or get some pistons with a slight dome on them..... thats always risky though, since you'd need to find out how far the valves come down...... cause you dont want them to touch the pistons.

IF you going higher compression, then I'd also have everyting balanced..... and get some Eagle rods......... new bearings all around...... and do the 2.3 oil pump swap..... then when someone FINNALY has some tuning software out for us, you'r all ready to raise your rev limiter and make more power...... (porting the head, and getting some better cams will be needed then)
