This may seem kind of weird, but he is transplanting an engine into his civic. I suggested to him the 2.2 Eco. Ive had good luck with my 2.4 an im pleased with it, and ive heard even better things from the 2.2 eco owners. His plan is to do a full front end swap i meant EVERYTHING, total custom mounts etc. suspension will swap over, the entire works. But what im wondering...should he be loking for an Eco or a 2.4? I have a 2.4 complete engine he could use sitting in my shop. But of coarse he will need the rest of the car. Now i know it sound stupid not to just buy a jbody right? well that what i think too.
But he wants to keep his old schol civic.
What year did GM start with the Eco?
Try not to bash on me for his idea. Im just the messenger.

pointless. just swap in a stock B16a2, run a chipped and socketed OBDI P28 ECU and a Boomslang OBDI conversion harness, and we can tune a chip for you using UBERDATA. It'll be more fun and much easier.

Why waste his time with an Ecotec. The Honda K24 Type S engine produces 220Hp Stock.

I wouldn't put a gm motor in it either. It will be cheaper, easier and more reliable to put a B16, B18c1 or any of the other strong vtec motors. I not a honda fan at all but, I wouldn't waste my time with the gm swap. What motor is in his car now?

Very heavy but very powerful motor. It would only be good for drag racing tho.

Your best bet is to do a B16 powerplant unless you get a good deal on a B18 (vtec or non vtec). If you would like, get on my site and keep us posted of what you do get and then we can assist you in an ECU, chip, and tune for your swap. We've tuned a lot of Hondas for near-stock, boost, and N/A.
