air intake rubber adapter

Hi everyone! I've got a cheap intake and it didn't come tiwh the rubber boot to hook it to the throttle body so right now it's hooked to the 2200 air box. Is there anywhere I can get a fairly cheap one? I've seen them online from anywhere from 30 to 90 bucks. That seems like a lot for a rubber tube. Anybody have some homemade ones from parts from like home depot or something. Any info you all could give me would be great! Thanks a lot!

That sounds a bit expensive. I know Turbonetics sells the fittings and they're not cheap, but epending on the diameter, you might be able to find some rubber hose at a parts store or hardware store. Or maybe even cut a piece off the stock intake and do it that way (ghetto, but it works). The nice silicone stuff that usually comes with those intakes, you can find form places like Jegs, Vibrant, anywhere where stuff for turbo charge pipes can be found. Did you try the local performance shops? They might have something you can use.

Acutally I don't really know of performance shops around my area. I haven't tried like auto zone or advanced auto parts but I didn't think they'd have anything anyways. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough online. Thanks for the advice.

No problem. I'm not familiar with your area, but easiest way to find a performance shop, the yellow pages. Look under automotive then performance, racing, something like that. It never fails.

I know what you are talking about. if you look at the pic on the ebay auction it should actually show the intake tube going to the air box.

I would not worry about this though. have you ever actually looked INSIDE that box? its cross section is huge and the path of air form the intake to the tb is alot smoother than any 90* pipe can give.

I would leave it, I will bet you money you will see no preformance gains taking out the air box. all you are changing is the look

go to lowes or home depot. go to the plumbing dept and they have rubber fittings there that you can use. I have used the rubber adapters for PVC pipe many of times and they work great... i still use one to this day for my 90 degree bend off the throtle body...
