I had bought the crappy cat-back exhaust from Jegs and hated the "muffler", so I bought a Magnaflow universal one. It was okay for a while, but the whole thing was just aluminized steel and it's starting to rust and the packing inside the muffler is shot and it's starting to sound like ass. I just bought a new stainless muffler and I have a stainless 2.25" cat sitting in the garage and a friend is welding an O2 bung on for me since this cat doesn't have one. The muffler I ordered has a 2.5" inlet, and I'm wondering what it would cost, roughly, to get the cat put on, it doesn't have flanges (slip-on type), and have a new mid-pipe crush or mendrel bent. The pipe I have now hangs down a bit, too, and I'm wondering if I can get the new pipe bent so it tucks closer to the car. Right now I scrape hanger and pipe clamp bolts on the driveway and speed bumps.
Sorry, I meant compression or mendrel bent. Not crush. Been a long day. Oh, and I'm wondering if a resonator is really going to make a difference. I hear people saying get one all the time, but never used one before. I don't mind spending the money if it's worth it.
