No HeaderS at all, its header and there is no best. Its all a personal preference, I like the 4-1 and other like 4-2-1. I think our cars have enough bottom end and no top end at all, so thats why I like the 4-1. 4-1= top end 4-2-1= bottom end.

It's not so much a matter of "which is better for this motor?", it's a matter of "which is better suited to my needs?"

4-1 will give you more mid-high RPM power
4-2-1 will give you more low-mid RPM power

A lot of people in drag racing go for 4-1 since it concentrates power in higher RPM's, which is where drag racers spend most of their time. A lot of people in Auto-X / slalom racing or just folks who want more spirited daily driving go for 4-2-1 since most of their time is spend in low-mid range RPMs.

On that note, plenty of people, especially folks with the 2.4L LD9 engine and the 2.2L Ecotec engine will opt for the 4-1 header since these engines have already got plenty of balls in the low end but aren't too spectacular up top, so helping adding power up top may be more beneficial overall. That reason explains why there are more options for the 4-1 style than the 4-2-1 Use this to decide which style is for you.

Weapon-R makes a 4-2-1 header, as well, for the Ecotec. And like the others said, its all based on personal preference and personal needs. A 4-1 header will give you better top end power while a 4-2-1 header will give you more low-mid range power.

I have 4-1 and really like the exhaust note and power above 4000 RPM
