After driving with my new 2.25" custom header back exhaust system for a week or so I noticed that it doesn't feel any more powerful than my old exhaust setup. In fact, it actually feels a little slower. I used to have a 2.5" cat-back system on stock header and cat and I noticed some good pull with that, especially on the highway, but when I heard that 2.5" was bad for NA I made the switch to 2.25" with high flow cat and pacesetter header. Does anyone know why this is? Is it because I haven't "broken in" the new exhaust system yet?

You probably wont 'feel' much of a difference with an aftermarket exhaust to begin with. But I do not believe you lost any power. Perhaps it is incorrectly installed?

i put a completly stock system on and it feels more powerful than my straight throuhg noise maker and smoothes things out a lot too.
its possible, any gains or losses would be minute

The 2 1/2" probably shifted your powerband more upwards before so that's why it feels like you lost power.
Also, your computer might play into effect. Alot of times the computer learns that you did a new modification and plays with the fuel curve to put it as close as possible to stock as possible so you probably noticed after your exhaust got done it felt good but then a few days later it felt slightly slower, that's probably why.

No codes. Everything was welded so I don't think there's any leaks. I haven't reset the ECU but I will try that out next.

No, I'm not saying it will throw codes at all, all I'm saying is that your computer is s jmart enough to learn that something is different and it's programmed to do a certain job and when something changes like your exhaust or an intake which effects your fuel curve, it will try and put it back to what it was programmed to.
As far as resetting your computer, that will just force your computer to relearning tables faster...won't really help you out.

if im understanding right you went from 2 1/2 down to 2 1/4, then you probably did lose some power...though not enough to make any real difference. however either 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 will make power over stock.

Gotcha, so I should just keep driving it and the ECU will adjust on its own?

Exactly. No real need to reset it.

He more than likely has more power throughout his powerband instead of a more highend like he did before.

Sounds to me like you are over thinking things. I thought that my mods made me loose power when i drove my friends same year stock eco. Its just because its so smooth and quiet that it seems more powerful. You dont free up to much power with a cat back on an N/A eco or 2.4 to begin with, but it becomes essential when forced induction comes in to play.
what the "honda killer" said. if your gunning it at high rpms it mgiht be cuz of that. but with a 2.25 you should have the same power maybe more. 2.25" is plenty for 2.4L. and like he said again, the ECU. unplug your neg. for 10-15 mintues. let your ecu remap and reset its self to the new exhaust. you should do that when ever you mod your engine.
