what is the difference between getting pistons with an overbored ? i mean between .020 and .040 what changes ? Compression ? what ? whats better for a turbo setup ? whats last longer ? i dont understand this and i have searched these forums and several other sources but i dont get the picture can any one draw it out for me in simple words ? thanks

the pistons are bigger then stock. so someone would have machine the block to make them fit. and giving you thinner cylinder walls. i would guess .020 is good enough.
if you go to big the cylinder walsl will become to thin and you might punch a rod thru the block

The amount of overbore is usually determined by the condition of the cylinder walls. An overbore is meant to clean up scrapes, wear & stuff to be perfectly round again. Go with the smallest requried, if you bore .020 now later if you have to rebuild again you go .020 more to .040 total over. The larger overbore the thinner the cylinder walls, the thinner the walls the weaker they are and more heat is transferred to the coolant making the engine run hotter quicker. (heat is the enemy, expecially if boosted). I'm not saying "run hotter quicker" will cause overheating, it will tax the cooling system more in hot weather or when punching it. I've had several engines bored, and every time they ran hotter the more overbored. (stock .vs. .030 .vs. 060. etc)
Hope that helps.

Correct

But the solution of the thinner walls is re-sleeving.

Just to elaborate, when he says bigger, they are physically wider than your stock pistons.
