another annoying code question
Thursday, February 23, 2006 12:08 PM
i know this has been asked before but i had put on a full 2.25" exhaust (pacesetter header, carsound 53005 hi-flow cat, and tanabe muffler) about 1 1/2 - 2 years ago and i have been getting this aggravating code that i cant seem to get rid of. P0430 i think, i know its a low efficiency for cat. I did everything except replacing the o2 after the cat, so i just gave up and put up with it for the longest time. The shop that put it in actually welded the new bung in after the cat with the o2 in it still, but i figured it was still good since it is sending some signal to the computer. Is there anything that has been found out to help eliminate this since the last time ive tried, or just any helpful advice at all????
I am going to be getting the gm charger soon with the reflash, does it eliminate the secondary o2 with the flash or not? I just need to know cause i dont want this problem with the charger if it will hurt things.

These instruction REALLY need to be Sticky-ed...

Go to autozone, advance auto, Pep boys, where ever. You need HELP! 18mm spark plug antifoule (part number 42002). 2 come in a package. You will notice that they have small holes in them. On one of these drill that out with a 1/2 drill bit, maybe one size bigger. You need to be able to screw your O2 sensor into it. I recommend unscrewing your rear o2 sensor, and making sure if fits. Once you have the whole drilled out screw the sensor into that one, then screw the sensor and anti fouler into the other anti fouler (this one you DO NOT drill out)., screw the whole thing back into your exhaust. Then, reset your ECU. That will take care of your code. Now and in the future

Here a few pics to show what I'm talking about:

Now those pics are not from my car, but with my Magnaflow 94035 cat I had to have an exhaust shop relocate the 02 sensor because the Antifouler pushed the o2 sensor so far out that it was rattling in the undercarage when I would down shift

Sorry for the double post, but I should mention that those instructions are not my own work. I saved those instructions from an old post, and I don't remember who posted them.
