What would it take besides a miracle to get my 2200 4spd auto cav down the quater mile with a et around 16.0-15.8? Would I be able to get away with that with bolt ons or is it more work than that? right now I just have my intake and TB spacer which I'm gonna take off once I locate a new set of TB bolts. Could I do it with a 2.25" exhaust and header with performance cat, intake, pullies? Alst thinkin about a 56MM Tb off a quad 4 when I go to the yard. would a shorter tire help me out to for my 60Ft?

well i h ave a 01 sunfire with the 2200 and the 4 speed auto . i ran a 16.4 with header full catback , intake, upper and lower motor mounts, B&M shift plus.slips to prove also . and weight reductuion also . nothin in the back .. no back seat andno passenger seat. i have gave up on bolt ons and invested in a j tuners turbo kit . so i know i will run 15's now . unless u have big bucks i say either go nitrous or turbo . all motor just doesn't seem like a good way to go with our motors. but thats just me .
u could always swap a 2.4 and u would be aroundthe 16 mark running stock than u got a good base to build on . ( not nocking down the 2.2) its a lot of work but it would be worth it in the long run
^^ Your better off doing an ecotec swap. The eco's can handle up to 300hp on stock internals. I dont know what the 2.4L engine can do but I do know that it cant do 300hp on stock internals.
If you ask PJ Flying Squirl ... he'll be a good source for the 2200 engine.

there is a guy on here that ran a 15.9 with bolt-ons with his 3 speed.
so yeah, its possible to run that

I would expect it. 2200's with full bolt-ons are running mid-high 15s at the Gimli rtace track near me.
The mod's you have listed should allow you to break into the high 15s.
Also, a nice wet 50 shot will do it...

OK so should be fairly inexpensive and easy to reach that goal. should also make the car more safe to pull out into traffic. The car is uber slow.
