does adding steel braided flex pipe into the exhaust system hurt performance by causing backpressure, turbulance, etc?

if its the same size as the rest of the system it wont hurt things a bit.

If you get the motor mounts upper and lower, you won't need to add the flex pipe.

^ Yep. But it doesn't hurt to do both, you know, just in case.

Not everyone like that lower mount.

a little vibration isnt gonna kill ya, if performance is your goal then you have to give up certain things to achieve it.
