AEM Cold Air or Weapon R Intake??

Which is better I've read up on both of them and they never really give any definates. So I thought I would ask and see what I came up with. If you know any info about either, lay it on me.

Thanks in advance!

Well I hate to do this to you but I think the INJEN one is the best looking one you can get.
All nice and polished and shiney! Shiney is good!

The AEM cold air will probly give you a horse or two more but the cost outweighs any benifits you'll see anywhere other then a dyno.

If you've made up your mind as to these two I'd say save the few bucks and go with th Weapon R one.

Just get an ebay intake and save yourself $100 buckets. Thats what I did. An intake can only flow so much air through its piping. I'm sure if you compared an ebay intake to an AEM, Injen, or Weapon R intakes, the difference would probably be unnoticable. But I haven't tried any name brand intakes.

True. BUT if the intake has hard bends or god forbid elbows then that slows down the flow and does hinder performance. If the E-bey ones have smooth curves and no elbows and flow as well I'm all for saving cash! But not at the expence of what I was tryng to do in the first place.

I just installed my AEM cold air intake on my 05 cavalier. I previously had the K&N WAI. And i'll tell you this. I loved the K&n, great quality. BUT I think the AEM inatke is 10x better. I can feel the power in the higher RPM while on the highway.

Intake to intake won't make much more hp if any like jackalope said. I think the AEM costs to much but, I have the Weapon R and I would suggest that you look elsewhere. I wouldn't buy either if I could do it again.

No offense if it is tens times better does that mean your CAI is adding 50 horsepower? LOL

ok the intake that looks the best, performs the best, and is the best money to HP is the K&N intake that comes with the Stage 2 Hahns Turbo kit. Yea its like $3800 but im pretty sure i can feel a difference now. Seems to be much faster at all ends

sorry i forgot to write that i had the weapon R and it wasnt that bad besides intakes are going to do much so get a decent one and when you have more money spent it on something that is going to make you get a better intake.

Do not buy ebay(cosmo) intake they dont fing fit!!!!!.The only ebay intake that fits ecotecs is the half intake and you might as well put a cone filter on the resionator bong or just stock piping. buy weapon r or dragon v2 is the best way to go off ebay around $130 shipped if you look good enught. I don't think the aem is any differnt exectp the filter really but you can allways buy a reusable fitler .

thanks for all the info folks..

i don't mind spending money on my car. i don't want a garbage intake on my car. i'm all about my car in every aspect even having certain name brand products on it.

i've just been taught that you have to pay to play. so that's a philosophy i'm going to stick to. e-bay intake just sounds stupid. e-bay is okay, but i prefer getting my parts from other places.

who knows what i will go with, i might get the injen intake, might get the aem, or might even get teh weapon r... not sure, only time will tell.

I have had both the injen intake and an intake from ebay on my car. Right now I have the injen and I will tell you. Absolutely no difference besides the name and looks.

Why is it hard to believe? Its a pipe with a filter on it, No difference but a name like he said. Just because something is cheap, doesn't mean it's no good. As long as it doesn't have and restrictive bends or something to that effect, it will not perform any differently than the more expensive counter part. I would just swap the filter out for a good one.
