Hello, JBO members, as the subject says above, how can I achieve this, I am sticking N/A for the ECOTEC. You can take a look at my bolt-ons, so far. Whats the next logical step to take.
Pacesetter header and full custom exhaust in the spring, but is there anything else I can do? - Thanx.

Get a header and hi-flow cat, cams would be good too get the stage 3s, maybe an auto-trans interceptor to shift faster. You could do head work if you really want to unleash the power from cams.
to put more power to the ground off the line DEFINENTLY do a SPEC race clutch. I have a Stage II and I felt an amazing difference once installed. It really recovers alot of power that is lost from the stock clutch slipping. Probably my favorite mod on my car! DONT get a lighter flywheel though because they suck for N/A cars. I have one and HATE it. Another thing is open up the intake side too if you do the exhaust. Do that with an air intake. Havnt looked at your mods yet so u may have the already done. Also if you are doing the clutch you may think about a LSD too at the same time to cut down on instalation costs. Im really happy with my Phantom Grip LSD....a Qaiffe (SP?) would be nice but hard to find. Good luck acheiving your power goals.
SEC-Z, I got a automatic Trans, any other ideas......
P.S. - Nice chick in your sig....freind of yours?

^^^ He has a auto.
If you do cams, that normally moves the powerband up. It will make good power and even more with a P&P as stated before. You could change the compressions as well, How much do you want to spend and what are you building it for?

Just looking for a little more pep at the stoplight, I dont want to have to change pistons or remove the head for a Port & Polish or a multi-angle valve job. This is my daily driver, for the most part. Any other bolt ons out there for me?

There is no replacement for displacement, bore that sucker out, thats the easiest way to pick up low end

Screw it ... Just get the GM blower and stop dicking around.
Your best bet, as far as bolt ons go, with the mods you have listed in your profile, would be a 4-2-1 header. After just a brief search, I found the DC Sports and the RK sport models for the Eco. Unfortunately, both are listed for over $400.
I have seen somewhere that there is are adjustable cam gears. Using them you can advance the cams about 4deg, to move the power curve down a couple hundred rpm. Just remember that if you do this, you will also lose just as much top end power.
Also look at the RPOs on the bottom of your spare tire cover, in the trunk. Find a site that can convert those RPOs to find out what final drive gear is. Depending on what gear you have you can change out the gears for a lower (numerically higher) gear. The down falls here are, you'll lose some gas mileage, your motor will have to turn a slightly higher rpm and changing the diff. can be lengthy process.
Go to
Defined Parts for the Weapon-R 4-2-1 Header. There's mixed opinions about this header but other than that its the DC Sports or RKSport.
sticking with the title of the thread.......I say you should get a torq converter
something in the 26-2800 stall range. but before you buy talk to a torq converter tech assistaint to get some real specs
the tc won't actually give you more power or torq, it will allow you to launch higher in the power band so you leave with more power. the looser converter will also help you with passing on the hyway and such

I don't actually read your posts
I stare them down until they give me the information I require
I ve researched this even more...do I need a smaller TB(mines 62mm) would it help or not.

The bigger the throttle body is, the higher your power band is. So your 62mm moved it up from what it was, to what it is. More of a high-end gain but it sacrificed your low end grunt. So a smaller throttle body would help you with stop and go acceleration.

really the underlying factor here is the reason you're lacking low end power is because of the auto transmission (aka fluid loss through the torque converter)
really there is no way to get more 'low end' power as you put it since no matter what you do you'll still have to spin a big heavy fluid filled pie o crap.
The RSM tb is killing you further, since its a rule of thumb that larger orifices promote volume, but therefore lose velocity. Velocity is what makes torque.
Cams is something else. Greater lift will increase power throughout, I would imagine its still going to be top end bias. You have to select your cams carefully if you want low to mid range power
If you want to increase low end power (not really sure why... I think what you really want is mid range) I would say get the head ported, some mild cams, and change out the torque converter for a higher stall speed (as mentioned earlier)
Also, don't forget to do the B&M shift plus or Autotrans interceptor.. it'll make the slush box shift a lot faster.
